Click here for the Group Test Schedule
Two group tests are being offered this season. Either is acceptable for the UA (Unique Abilities) Scholarship Program. Only the ITBS meets the criteria for the Florida PEP (Personalized Education Program) Scholarship.
CAT-5 SURVEY
[California Achievement Tests, 5th Edition, Survey Format]
This test is published by McGraw Hill Publishers and is a traditional achievement test that assesses performance in reading, language, spelling, mathematics, study skills, science, and social studies.. The Survey form is approximately half the length of the CAT-5 Complete Battery, with questions in all of the sub-tests. Instead of forty reading comprehension questions, for example, there would only be twenty; instead of 8 addition problems, there would be 4, etc. The Survey is not available for first grade, so you will need to discuss your options for a first grader with your evaluator.
ADVANTAGE
Grades 4-12 can complete this test in one day. Grades 2 & 3 take two morning sessions. The response sheets are hand scored.
Qualifies for the UA Scholarship Program (Students with Unique Abilities).
CAT-5 SURVEY COST: $50
ITBS [Iowa Test of Basic Skills]
– Provided and graded by Bob Jones University Press
The parent must order this test from BJU at the correct grade level and have it sent to the evaluator. BJU requires that you do this at least 22 days before the test date, so do it right away! In addition to the fee charged by BJU for the test (about $35-$45) we charge $50 for administering the test and processing the results. They prefer that you order online at www.bjupress.com (use the link below)
ITBS COST: $50 (+ BJU fee)
My evaluator number is 1115905 (Kitty Slusser); If your evaluator is JoAnne, her number is 762223. The test is sent to your evaluator, but the results are sent to the parent (allow 8 weeks from the test date).
They will ask you to provide proof of home-schooling to them. This is usually in the form of your letter from the county or your FPEA membership card.
Please notify me of the date that you ordered the test. I will let you know when the test arrives or if you should call about the shipping date.
BJU will usually only talk to the parent that ordered the test about status and expected delivery date.
ADVANTAGE
This test provides a comprehensive diagnostic assessment that may aid you in adjusting your child’s curriculum to suit their abilities.
Qualifies for both the UA Scholarship and the PEP Scholarship (Personalized Education Program)
