    Testing Prep

The standardized tests that we use help to determine academic progress and estimated grade level. They test skills more than content. So there is no way to “study for the test.”

There are practice tests available to help your child to understand the process of test taking: Following the directions, Marking the answers, etc. Knowing what to expect may help relieve some of their test anxiety.

The best preparation is for your child to be well rested and relaxed. That means that you need to relax as well. Make sure they have a good dinner and go to bed early on the night before testing.

Start the day with a good breakfast and a relaxed atmosphere. Remind your child that the “test” is to determine their progress, not their intelligence.

    Essential Oils

I recommend the use of essential oils (diffused and topical) to help with test anxiety and improved clarity. Each person responds differently to each scent, so try them at home first.

You can learn about oils at my storefront even if you do not shop. Oils are readily available at pharmacies and health stores.
